Gooses collects nothing.
This policy covers Gooses, made independently under the name Grow Where You Know.
The short version
Gooses is a fully on-device app. There is no server run by me, no account system, no analytics SDK, and no advertising SDK anywhere in the app. Nothing you log about your baby is sent to me, because there is nowhere on my end for it to go.
Where your data lives
Everything you log — sleep, feeds, diapers, notes, baby profiles — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's Core Data framework. It stays there unless you turn on iCloud sync yourself.
Optional iCloud sync & partner sharing
If you choose to turn on iCloud sync in Settings, your data syncs through your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. If you share a baby with a partner (CKShare), that data moves directly between your iCloud accounts through Apple's infrastructure — it is never routed through, or visible to, me. This feature is off by default and fully reversible.
Photos
Gooses never requests camera access. The only photo-related feature is importing a daycare sheet: you pick a single photo through Apple's standard photo picker, and it's read on-device with Apple's Vision framework to fill in a log entry. The photo is not uploaded anywhere and the app never gets broad access to your photo library.
Microphone
Gooses does not use the microphone. Voice logging, where offered, goes through Siri / Apple's on-device Shortcuts and intents system, not a microphone API in the app itself.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
None. Gooses does not use any analytics framework, advertising network, or cross-app tracking of any kind, and it never will.
Tip jar
Gooses includes an optional, one-time tip jar using Apple's StoreKit. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; I never see or store your payment details. Tips never unlock a feature — every part of the app is free.
Children's data
Gooses is a personal record-keeping tool used by a parent or caregiver about their own child, not a service directed at children, and not a service that collects data from an end user for me. Any information about your baby stays on your device (and, if you opt in, in your family's own iCloud) — I never receive, store, or have access to it.
Your data, your control
You can export everything as a CSV file at any time from Settings → Data, shared through the standard iOS share sheet to wherever you choose. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device. If iCloud sync was on, "Erase iCloud Data" in the app's Settings → iCloud section removes the copy from your iCloud (you can also manage it from iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud storage).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
